Building power within indigenous and local communities is critical to secure our lands and territories and defend our environmental rights while addressing disproportionate impacts of environmental degradation, climate justice and unjust solutions to our lands identity, livelihoods and cultures. Our role ensures that:
- There are secured migration routes and grazing areas
- Citizens have a better understanding of land rights both environmental and territorial
- Inclusive urban planning
- cultural sites are protected
- there is more informed dialog on community land act
- There are community maps in order to protect biodiversity
- There is adherence to FPIC in community land acquisition
- Strong dispute resolution mechanism are in place
